The newly revamped and relaunched Idol Bat is live! We’ve switched content systems, updated the theme, created user options for font size and color scheme, and changed the publishing schedule. We’ve officially become more better. Click “read more” below for more information (including how to change the font size, etc.).

The Idol Bat will now be publishing a small number of columns on a weekly basis (the day varies per column) with additional fake news for your reading enjoyment published sporadically. If you don’t know about RSS, this might be a good time to learn.

With the relaunch of the Idol Bat, we’ve added a number of features that allow you to customize the site like never before! The most important thing to know about is the control bar, located in the very top right of the window (within the colored header area). If you mouse over the bar there, it will pull down and allow you to increase or decrease the font size, change the color scheme, or disable the Flash banner if it is causing the page to run too slowly on your computer. Any options that you change will be saved to your computer in a small cookie, so the Idol Bat will look the same when you come back.

Additionally, there are RSS feeds for articles or comments located in the left sidebar. Most modern browsers will track RSS feeds if you want (so you can just click the link), or if you have an external RSS reader installed (which is often preferable), you can load it up there. Check out Pure Mac for a list of Mac RSS readers, or Blogspace’s list for a number of good Windows RSS readers.
